A Food & Wine Week in Cotignac

A holiday in Provence is best enjoyed at your own pace: browsing market stalls, discovering a local vineyard and sharing a long lunch with people you love. At De Provence, you have a well-equipped kitchen, five dining terraces and outdoor cooking facilities to make the most of whatever you bring home.

Use these seven ideas to shape your week, changing the order to suit market days, reservations and the weather.

Settle in

Keep your first evening simple. Unpack, choose a terrace and enjoy dinner overlooking the countryside. An optional food-and-wine hamper can be arranged for your arrival.

Explore Cotignac

Spend a morning discovering the village, stopping for coffee and choosing somewhere for lunch. Leave time to browse, rather than filling every hour with plans.

Bring the market home

Visit a local food market and build a meal around what catches your eye. Fresh vegetables, cheese, bread and seasonal fruit can become a memorable lunch with very little preparation.

Our market guide lists local markets and their days. Check the latest arrangements before travelling.

Discover the vineyards

Plan a visit to a local vineyard and discover wines to enjoy during your stay. Book tastings ahead where required and arrange transport if everyone wishes to taste.

Our vineyard guide is a useful starting point.

Cook outdoors

Make an evening of cooking together on the Big Green Egg barbecue or Asado grill. Choose your ingredients, take your time and gather around one of the villa’s five dining terraces.

Let someone else cook

Enjoy a restaurant meal in or around Cotignac, or enquire about an optional private chef at the villa. Chef services and tasting-menu experiences are charged separately and should be arranged in advance.

Leave a day unplanned

Return to a favourite café, enjoy a leisurely lunch or settle into the library with a book. Some of the best holiday moments need very little organising.

Your Own Place in Provence

De Provence welcomes up to 12 guests in six air-conditioned bedrooms. Smaller groups are equally welcome, with exclusive use of the whole villa, gardens and terraces. The villa rental and cleaning charge remain the same.
